About the location: It is believed that The temple is located at the confluence of rivers Kapila, Hiran, & Saraswati, the temple is built. The history of the ancient temple can be traced back to 649 BC. It can be tracked back. Its current form was rebuilt in 1951.

This temple was destroyed in 1297 and 1394 and finally, it was destroyed 6 by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The temple was then rebuilt in  1950.
